DRIVE - A BOWLER'S DREAM

The concept of DRIVE is to use technology to transform the performance of the athlete by equipping the space with advance technology to support high performance training. Scientifically capturing & analyzing elite bowler's technique for research and development to brand and retail the equipment to improve their game. Hence its a hub where athletes physical ability is being monitored throughout the process.
The users are people from the Fashion, IT industry as well as atheletes who are interested in the game of bowling.

PERSEPCTIVES

THOUGHT PROCESS

The concept started off with the play of planes in mind! Creating pockets of voids to see through at different parts of the space so that the sports movement of bowlers could be well analyzed since the view of users are already focused on them. However, the planes was very 2 dimensional and wasn't able to give the effect that would elevate the view of the bowlers. I wanted a view where the viewers could almost feel they are bowling despite just watching from the side, just like watching a movie in 3D!

However, the concept evolved towards a 3 dimensional plane concept where planes are angled where it frames the views while giving depth due to the positions and the method the triangles are put together. Having the sound of the bowling ball collide with the pins echo through the view towards the users enhances the experience because its no longer just a visual experience.
